AKKI ROTI

This is a delicious rice flour flatbread! This is a very famous & popular breakfast dish from Karnataka. Made with such simple ingredients, this recipe is a hit. This is made from rice flour and it’s so similar to the rice flour rotis. But it has veggies too along with rice flour, which makes it wow. The dil leaves give a very nice earthy flavour to the roti. There are holes made in the roti so it cooks well throughout. You can serve this with curries or podi chutney & sambhar. It tastes so good and so different. Worth a try definitely.

INGREDIENTS

For the dough

  • 1/2 cup rice flour
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 tsp ginger green chilly paste
  • 1/4 cup grated carrot
  • 2 tbsp chopped Dil leaves
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt to taste

Other ingredients

  • Oil to make the roti

To serve

  • Podi chutney

METHOD

  1. In a plate mix everything together to make a dough.
  2. Divide the dough into 3 equal parts.
  3. With your hands, flatten the dough into a roti.
  4. Heat a pan add the roti on the pan.
  5. With your finger poke holes on the roti.
  6. Roast the roti, brush some oil, flip and cook both the sides.
  7. Serve hot with podi chutney.
