MAKHANA KHEER

MAKHANA KHEER Recipe|Renu dalal

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 Cup Makhana
  • 3 ½ Cups Full fat milk
  • ¼ Cup Sugar
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 7-8 saffron strands

For garnish

  • 2 tbsp Sliced roasted cashews
  • 1 tbsp Sliced Pistachio

METHOD

For the makhana

  1. In a vessel heat the ghee and roast the makhana till crisp.
  2. In a food processor blend the makhana into a fine powder.

How to proceed

  1. Boil milk and add in sugar, cardamom powder, saffron.
  2. Mix well and add in the powdered roasted makhana.
  3. Keep stirring and let it cook for about 15 minutes until the milk thickens and reduces to about half the quantity.
  4. Once done, garnish with cashew and pistachios. Serve hot or cold as per your preference.
