PAV BHAJI

This wholesome dish has a place of it`s own in everyone`s hearts. Who doesn`t love pav bhaji ? pav Bhaji is made with a variety of ingredients including potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, green peas and beetroots. You can add other vegetables of your choice too. The main base is of onions and tomatoes. Loaded with butter that fills you up and gives you a fulfilling meal. Pav bhaji is a comfort food for everyone, try our version of it and let us how you like it. Serve with butter pav or masala pav and enjoy.

INGREDIENTS

Vegetables

  • 2 Large Potatoes boiled
  • ¼ Cup Boiled Carrots
  • ¼ Cup Boiled Green peas
  • ¼ Cup boiled Cauliflower
  • ¼ Cup boiled Beetroot

Other ingredients

  • 2 Medium sized Onions chopped
  • ½ Cup Chopped Capsicum
  • 2 Medium sized Tomatoes chopped
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp jeera
  • ¼ Cup chopped coriander
  • 1 ½ tbsp Pav bhaji masala
  • 1/2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Kasturi methi
  • ¼ tsp green chilli paste
  • 2 tbsp garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli paste
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 Cups Water
  • Salt to taste

For the Tempering

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ¼ tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp pav bhaji masala
  • 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli paste
  • ¼ tsp garam masala

To serve with

  • Ladi Pav
  • Chopped Onions
  • Lemon Slice

METHOD

Vegetables

  1. In a large bowl, roughly mash together all the boiled vegetables.

How to proceed

  1. In a pan melt butter, sauté garlic paste, green chilly paste and jeera.
  2. Add in chopped onions and sauté for a minute.
  3. Mix in chopped capsicum, salt to taste and let it cook.
  4. Add in chopped tomatoes, mix well and let it cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Mix in the mashed boiled vegetables and sauté well for 2 minutes.
  6. Add in Kashmiri red chilli paste, lemon juice, pav bhaji masala, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and kasturi methi. Mix everything well.
  7. Add water and let the bhaji boil for 3-4 minutes.
  8. Finish by adding chopped coriander leaves.

For the tempering

  1. In a small pan melt butter, sauté jeera, pav bhaji masala, Kashmiri red chilli paste and garam masala. Temper this for 30 seconds.

  2. Add this hot tempering on the bhaji, serve hot with ladi pav.
