You can deepfreeze and use whenever you wish to. Healthy and nutritious it makes a great after dinner sweet too.

GAAJAR KA HALWA Recipe|Renu dalal


  • 4 cups grated carrot
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 ½ cups full fat milk

For garnish

  • 2 tbsp finely chopped cashew nuts (fried or roasted)
  • 1 tbsp rasins


How to proceed

  1. Heat the ghee in a non-stick frying pan.
  2. Add the grated carrot and cook for 3 to 4 minutes stirring continuously.
  3. Add the sugar, milk and cardamom powder, and cover with a lid and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  4. Remove the lid,stir continuously and cook till the liquid evaporates.
  5. You can deep freeze the halwa and use at your convenience.

To serve

  1. Serve hot garnished with cashew nuts and rasins
