INGREDIENTS
To put in a pressure cooker
2 ½ cups soaked black urad dal (soak 1 cup black urad dal for 8 hours)
1 cup chopped onion
½ cup chopped tomato
3 cloves crushed garlic
3 cups water
2tbsp Cream
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 cup water
Other ingredients
2 tbsp butter
2 pieces taj (cinnamon stick)
2 pieces tej patha (bay leaf)
Salt to taste
METHOD
In a pressure cooker cook the urad Dalal with onion, tomato, garlic and water. Once it is cooked well, mash a little with a whisk.
In a vessel heat the butter, add the taj, tejpatta, coriander powder, garam masala and saute for half a minute.
Add the mashed urad dal, cream, 1 cup water, salt to taste. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Serve hot with vegetables and naan.
