KAALI DAL Recipe|Renu dalal

INGREDIENTS

  • To put in a pressure cooker
  • 2 ½ cups soaked black urad dal (soak 1 cup black urad dal for 8 hours)
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped tomato
  • 3 cloves crushed garlic
  • 3 cups water
  • 2tbsp Cream
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup water

Other ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 pieces taj (cinnamon stick)
  • 2 pieces tej patha (bay leaf)
  • Salt to taste

METHOD

  1. In a pressure cooker cook the urad Dalal with onion, tomato, garlic and water. Once it is cooked well, mash a little with a whisk.
  2. In a vessel heat the butter, add the taj, tejpatta, coriander powder, garam masala and saute for half a minute.
  3. Add the mashed urad dal, cream, 1 cup water, salt to taste. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Serve hot with vegetables and naan.
