
Maa ki dal

Ingredients
To put in a pressure cooker
- 2 ½ cups soaked black urad dal (soak 1 cup black urad dal for 8 hours)
- 1 cup chopped onion
- ½ cup chopped tomato
- 3 cloves crushed garlic
- 3 cups water
Other Ingredients
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 pieces taj (cinnamon stick)
- 2 pieces tej patha (bay leaf)
- Salt to taste
Method
- In a pressure cooker cook the urad Dalal with onion, tomato, garlic and water. Once it is cooked well, mash a little with a whisk.
- In a vessel heat the butter, add the taj, tej patta and saute for half a minute.
- Add the mashed urad dal, salt to taste. Add more water if required and cook for 2 minutes.
- Serve hot with vegetables and naan.
