A quick recipe to make a great dish for lunch or dinner. You can have it with naan, rice and kaali dal. A lovely combination of green peas and paneer with a lovely punabi gravy. Can be made in a jiffy and is very healthy too. Peas contain heart-friendly minerals including magnesium, potassium and calcium and are also rich in antioxidant nutrients like vitamin C. make this loevly vegetable and enjoy.

MATAR PANEER Recipe|Renu dalal

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams paneer cut into squares
  • 1 cup boiled green peas

For the paste

  • ½ chopped onion
  • ½ chopped tomato
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 12 cashews
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 clove
  • 2 tbsp water

Other ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • ½ tbsp turmeric powder

METHOD

For the paste

  1. Process all the items together in a food processor. A paste will be formed.

How to proceed

  1. In a vessel heat the oil, add the jeera, garam masala, and turmeric powder, saute for 15 seconds.
  2. Add the paste and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Add the green peas, paneer, ½ cup water and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Serve hot with naan and paratha.
