Matar Paneer Recipe by Renu Dalal

Great for your daily meal. Have it with kaali dal, naan, or just like that.

  • Preparation time: 20 minutes
  • Cooking time: 10 minutes
  • Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 250 grams paneer cut into squares
  • 1 cup boiled green peas

For the paste

  • ½ chopped onion
  • ½ chopped tomato
  • 1 tbsp chopped ginger
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 12 cashews
  • 1 inch cinnamon
  • 1 clove
  • 2 tbsp water

Other Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • ½ tbsp turmeric powder

Method

For the paste

  1. Process all the items together in a food processor. A paste will be formed.

 

How to proceed

  1. In a vessel heat the oil, add the jeera, garam masala, and turmeric powder, saute for 15 seconds.
  2. Add the paste and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  3. Add the green peas, paneer, 1/2 cup water and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Serve hot with naan and paratha.
