MOONG DAL SHEERA Recipe|Renu dalal

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup yellow moong dal
  • 4 tbsp ghee
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • ¼ tsp saffron dissolved in water
  • 2 tbsp chopped almonds

To decor

  • almond slivers

METHOD

  1. Soak the moong dal in warm water for 3 to 4 hours and drain well. Process in a food processor till you get a paste.
  2. Tie in a muslin cloth and remove the excess water by squeezing the cloth.
  3. In a vessel heat the ghee and add the moong dal mixture and stir for 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Add the milk, sugar, water and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Add the cardamon powder, almonds, saffron water and stir for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot and decorate with almonds.
