Besan Muthiyas are soft, steamed savoury dumplings made from gram flour, spices, and fresh herbs. INGREDIENTS
- ½ cup chopped coriander
- 1 tbsp chopped mint leaves
- 1 tsp ginger chilli paste
- 1 ½ cups besan
- 2 tbsp rava
- 1 tbsp oil
- ¼ tsp hing
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ½ cup warm water
- 1/4 tsp sesame seeds
- 1/4 tsp ajjwain
- 1/2 tsp jeera
- Salt to taste
- 2 tsp oil
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
- 3-4 Curry Leaves
- Pinch of hing
- ½ tsp sesame seeds
For tempering
METHOD
- In a plate mix all the ingredients together to make a dough.
- Make cylindrical muthiya log of the mixture and place them in a steamer.
- Steam for 8 to 10 minutes till done.
- Remove from the steamer and allow to cool.
- Cut into round muthiya slices.
- Heat the oil add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and hing.
- Saute the muthiyas on both sides till they turn brown in colour.
