INGREDIENTS

    • ½ Cup black rice
    • 1 ½ Cups Milk
    • 7-8 Saffron strands (Soaked in ½ tbsp hot milk)
    • ¼ tsp Cardamom powder
    • 3 tbsp Sugar
    • 2 tsp Ghee

    For garnish

    • Roasted Sliced Cashews
    • Roasted Sliced Almond

METHOD

    For the pressure cooker

    1. Soak the black rice for an hour.
    2. In a pressure cooker, pressure cook the black rice with 2 cups of water for 5 whistles.
    3. Once done, strain the cooked rice.

    How to proceed

    1. In a pan heat ghee, sauté the cooked rice for 30 seconds.
    2. Mix in milk, sugar, cardamom powder, kesar. Cover with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes.
    3. Keep stirring and cook until it thickens.
    4. Once done, garnish with almonds and cashews. Serve hot or cold.
