INGREDIENTS

    • 2 cups grated carrot
    • 2 cups grated beetroot
    • 1 ½ cups full fat milk
    • 2 tbsp ghee
    • 3 tbsp sugar
    • 1 tsp cardamom powder

    To garnish

    • 1 tbsp finely powdered pistachios

METHOD

    1. Heat the ghee in a non-stick frying pan.
    2. Add the grated carrot, beetroot and cook for 3 to 4 minutes stirring continuously.
    3. Add the sugar, milk and cardamom powder. Cover with a lid and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
    4. Remove the lid, stir continuously and cook till the liquid evaporates.
    5. You can deep freeze the halwa and use at your convenience.

    To Serve

    1. Serve hot, garnished with pistachios.
