INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups grated carrot
- 2 cups grated beetroot
- 1 ½ cups full fat milk
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp finely powdered pistachios
To garnish
METHOD
- Heat the ghee in a non-stick frying pan.
- Add the grated carrot, beetroot and cook for 3 to 4 minutes stirring continuously.
- Add the sugar, milk and cardamom powder. Cover with a lid and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Remove the lid, stir continuously and cook till the liquid evaporates.
- You can deep freeze the halwa and use at your convenience.
- Serve hot, garnished with pistachios.
