Homemade Greek Yogurt | How to Make Greek Yogurt | Homemade Thick Yogurt | Greek Yogurt Recipe

Homemade Greek yogurt is made by straining regular homemade curd or yogurt to remove excess whey and create a thicker, creamier consistency. The process is simple and requires only fresh curd and a clean muslin cloth or fine strainer. The longer it is strained, the thicker the yogurt becomes, so the timing can be adjusted depending on how it will be used. It works well for breakfast bowls, dips, smoothies, desserts, and marinades. Keep the strained yogurt refrigerated and use a clean container for storage.

INGREDIENTS

    • 2 Cups Homemade Curd

METHOD

    1. Take a bowl, a strainer and place a muslin cloth over it.
    2. Add the curd to the muslin cloth and cover it.
    3. Let the excess water drip slowly and leave it aside for about 6 hours until it thickens.
    4. Once the excess water is removed fully, ग्रीक yoghurt is ready.

Chef's Note from Renu Dalal:

Keep the yogurt refrigerated while straining, especially in warm weather, to maintain its freshness and texture.
