INGREDIENTS

    • 1 cup masoor dal
    • 2 tsp oil
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
    • 2 tsp sesame seeds
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil for frying

    Masalas

    • ½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
    • ½ tsp chaat masala
    • ½ tsp amchur powder
    • ½ tsp coriander powder
    • Salt to taste

METHOD

    For the masalas

    1. In a bowl mix together all the masalas.

    For the chips

    1. Blen the masoor dal into a fine powder.
    2. Sieve the powder to get a finer texture.
    3. In a plate mix together crushed masoor dal, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, sesame seeds, oil and salt to taste.
    4. Knead a soft dough.
    5. Divide the dough and roll out sheets as thin as possible.
    6. With a fork, poke holes on the rolled dough.
    7. With a knife, cut into diamond shaped chips.
    8. Heat oil for frying and deep fry them.
    9. Remove the chips when done and press on absorbent paper to remove the exceess oil.
    10. As soon as their done sprinkle the masala mixture immediately on the chips.
    11. Store in an air tight container.
