Sweet Tamarind Chutney

INGREDIENTS

    • 1 cup khajoor (dates)
    • 1/2 cup tamarind (imli)
    • 1/4 cup jaggery
    • 3 cups water

    Other Ingredients

    • 1 tsp cumin powder
    • 1/2 red chilli powder
    • Salt to taste

METHOD

    1. In a pressure cooker add tamarind, dates and jaggery along with water.
    2. Pressure cook this for 5 whistles.
    3. Once done, let it cool down and then blend into a smooth puree.
    4. With a sieve, sieve the puree.
    5. Heat a pan and transfer the blended puree, add in salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder.
    6. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
    7. Once done, cool down and store in the deep freezer, use at your convenience.
